Train to Chiang Mai – Tiffany

Time to say hi and goodbye to Marion and Eddy who just arrived and I packed my bag direction the train station for another great adventure: the night train direction Chiang Mai.

Arrived there, I joined Thierry and Arnaud and met Tiffany who was waiting on her own, these same train. That’s how I did my first interview on the road. She comes from the South of France and is travelling for one month in Thailand. It was the beggining of her trip and was pretty pleased already by the way the things were going on. I recognise myself in what she was saying even if it was for less time than my trip. She told me about how she get lost in Bangkok the day of her arrival and asked for her way to a local who followed her until she randomly met a policeman. These kind of situations can be really scary. No need to say.

While we were waiting for the delayed train (that’s not even a surprise!) the tourist police approached us and gave us some documentation about the do’s and don’t in Thailand. Which was really helpful, specially the “don’t get naked and don’t kiss in public” section. Just in case…

When the train arrived we all say good bye and we jumped in the train. A small but strong lady showed me my bed and the toilets. Everything was bright pink. I didn’t put easily my 15kg backpack on my couch which was really high… That’s sometimes the inconvenience when you are 1m60 and you travel on your own. I sat there while the train was slowly starting to move again and notice how comfy it was.

I had an amazing night surrounded by my new little friends the bed bugs. Well, no kidding, I really hope it was just small nice bugs…
Ah by the way, I would like to thanks really warmly and from the bottom of my heart my little sister Lallie who offered me for my birthday the go girl. This little silicon tool appeared to be my saviour that night, when I needed to go to the toilet but didn’t want to pee on my shoes, on my legs, fall into the pee on the floor and ruin my life. I make an annoncement: girls, this object which allows you to pee stand up like a man is a must have if you are a traveller. I’m not going to insist on that for ages but that really can solve a LOT of problems!
