Bangkok – A story about a spider, a nipple and a river

Dear Bangkok… I didn’t miss your perfume.

But I was happy to see you again. Well, for a short amount of time…

I managed to book online an hotel close to Kao San Road but not too much to avoid the backpackers’ parties noises at night. The coolest part was that it was along the river. The New Phiman Riverview Guesthouse is not easy to find. From the main road, you have to walk in a little Soi, then after passing by a Thai boxing training outdoor school and some chicken in cages, you need to ask your way to some locals having dinner on some plastic chairs. They will probably indicate you an even smaller Soi, hidden on the side. That’s it. You’ll pass some people’s houses, doors always open, cloth drying on the wall, cats eating garbage and little kids playing with knives or with the cats who were eating garbage later on. The little little Soi were as large as me and my backpack and were doing turns and returns. I thought I would be lost in this dedale but I happily found my way to this strange wooden guesthouse, floating on the water. The dorm had an amazing view but don’t expect a lot of privacy if you want to go there. There is none actually. It was a 10 bedrooms open dorm. All the mattresses were placed on each side of the room.

Don’t expect to feel clean also. You have to shower in the toilets and brush your teeth outside. Ah and also, you’ll be bitten by strange insects. For exemple… I stayed one night there only. Just the time to be the dinner of a spider. She tried 4 times to kill me. FOUR TIMES. Since then, I have an horrible spot on a toe, two on the ass and the best one is probably the one placed on the nipple. Thank you spider, I feel like a new woman now. Maybe I could join a circus: “And now, ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to show you the amaaaaazing Frenchie Threenipples! Please applause loudly!”. I can almost hear the crowd screaming “Whooooa”…

I didn’t know what to do so I did nothing. Can you imagine me going to a pharmacy and show then my intimates part? If it was dangerous, I would be dead so I took the decision to see what would happen few days later.

But the view was amazing…
