Nophar

At sunset, on the rooftop, I interviewed Nophar. An Israeli young lady who planned to leave her country and explore others for an unknown amount of time.

She told me great stories about her trip and her love for India. She was the first girl met who traveled there on her own and proved me that I could go there on my own without freaking out. Later during my trip, I will meet a lot of them who all confirmed that idea…

The reason she was traveling was unexpected for me. When you are 18 years old and born in Israel, you have to serve two years in the army if you are a girl, three years if you are a boy. After that period of duty, a lot of them decide to travel to cut off what they experienced so far. I won’t talk about politics ideas or about what’s happening in this part of the world right now. It was just precious to have somebody like Nophar explaining her life and thoughts about her travel.

I realize everyday how the place I was born help me to have the easy life I had and the chance I have to be who I am right now. Nophar has been throught a lot of horror stories and tough moments I guess but she had the strength to look what was at the other side of the world and welcome every new culture and ideas she traveled in. She was full of optimism and loved what she was doing. It was an intense and amazing interview. Thank you darling!
