What I instantly liked about Alexia is her little “I don’t give a fuck” attitude about details, her positives thoughts all the time and the fact she was sooo easy going. I mean, should I remind you that we shared the tiniest bed ever for New Year’s Eve in the smallest bungalow on earth, about to collapse, and that we have just met few hours ago? Even if traveling sometimes is about messing up the degrees of intimacy your are sharing with total strangers, I think you need to have guts to trust each other’s like we did, straight away.
Alexia planned to travel in India with her boyfriend but the twat broke up with her two days before taking their flight. I won’t get into the details but it was not just a simple heart breake and this story could have destroyed her faith in humanity. Instead of canceling everything, she went to the airport anyway…
How can you not be admirative about her? How can you not think that she is a wonder woman…? Alexia crossed a country famous to provokes shocks and to be honnest, I’m not ready yet to endure and see what she lived there, specially on my own. She declared that what she hated at first about India, made the country so special and lovable in the end but that yes, she has been happy to found two companions to travel with, as the differences of culture with Europe was sometimes too deep for her.
I found in her so many similitudes. We shared beds, buses and pizzas and that gave me the impression to have found a travel sister. We had the same first experience of diving, we used to wash our panties in the sinks in our cheap hostels, sleep under the same moskitoe net, crave for French food at the same time, talked about life, love and money saving all the time, mock the drunk dancers at some weird beach parties, read for ages on the beach and not talk because sometimes, silence is gold… That and so much more made our few days traveling together so special.
Thanks Alexia, to share with me your happiness, your way of thinking, your humor andyour strength. It was a great thing to be along your way for a bit!
