Devil’s tear
Devil’s Tear is few meters away from Dream Beach. I spent the day by myself, on the scooter, exploring the island and even if I started to want to speak with somebody, I felt grateful for this extra time of loneliness on the top of the cliff, watching the rageous ocean kissing the shaped rocks.

Canggu, don’t let me go
Staying in a place for a week or more is, I would say, essential when you travel for few month. It’s like taking holidays of your trip. You can rest your bones on the same bench in the same spot at the same time everyday if you want to. You start to make friends and do some plans together, the kind of plans you do at home with your homies. You discover all the good places of the city and you have time to try all the different coffee shops and register all the wifi passwords of the town in your iPad. You take your time.

Secret temple
I like taking the little roads when I visit a place but you never know if there will be a treasure at the end of the alley or if you’ll find the dump of the city. A nice and sunny path in the rice fields can turn into a muddy grey road. I am a yogi now
When in Java, I researched for a silent retreat in Bali, I thought it would be a great life experience to not use my voice for few days. When I realized I would not be able to listen to any music, read any book and that I will basically starve for one week if I clicked on the button “reserve”, I quickly change my mind and naturally search for something less hardcore. I will have a life experience in a yoga retreat.

Listening to the Earth’ song
I met Alberto, a Spanish traveler in Jogja. I was searching for an express tour to see what East Java had to show in terms of Volanoes. I could have do it on my own, like a badass but after reading a lot of advices on Google from people who did it in the past, I realise that this time, an agency would be more than welcome. It really looked like a big hassle and it seems to costs more to do it on your own than with a tour.

Breaking the spell
On the 31st of December 2014, one year ago exactly, a Scottish church rang midnight and the bagpipes in the stadium I was standing in began playing the goodbye song. Fireworks were illuminating the sky and my cold smoky breath was blurring the stars behind my partner’s head as I looked up at him. As much as Scotland can be cold on a 31st of December, my heart was burning with love and hope for the new year to come.

In 47 days…
I’ll be gone.
Hop! In a plane direction Dubai.
I’ve been preparing for this trip for few months and I have to admit, I think about it all the time. While brushing my teeth I dream about the bad beds I will sleep in. On my way to work, I’m cycling between two buses but my spirit is transported in Angkor Wat and I imagine myself discovering the temples on a rusty bike. My friends, while we were sitting on the grass to catch the pale English sun on a quiet Sunday afternoon, I was already feeling the Thai sand between my toes, the taste of a fresh coconut on my tongue, gently lulled by the song of the waves…
