The Wanderlust Queen Project

I wish I could say that I’m one of those people who wake up one day in their office, bored of their life and suddenly take a ticket to nowhere. But I’m not. I just caught the bug of travelling a long time ago I guess and even if my job, my house and my friends are awesome here in London, I can’t wait to hit the road with my loyal backpack.

My name is Margot.
I am 28 years old, I was born in the South of France, late July so I’m a cancer. I guess if you believe in these kind of things, that makes me a really sensitive, emotive and intuitive person. And that’s kind of true.
I work in a super gallery in London since November 2013 and before that I was doing a lot of really different things in Paris. I was mostly working in the art and cultural industry. Any time I could, I was jumping in an air plane to visit the European capitals with my camera

I arrived in London two years ago. Since then I’ve worked in a street art gallery, I have friends from all over the world and I try to enjoy that city as much as I can! Somebody said one day that “If you are tired of London, you are tired of life”
Three years ago, I decided that I was mature enough to travel to the other side of the world, so I left my comfort zone and took a plane to New Zealand, Australia and Vietnam with my friend for three month.
A safe place to sleep at night, something to eat (if possible fresh) and a shower… Sometimes… These were our priorities. The rest was something so exciting, so true and so intense that words really fail to express what we were living on the road.
I have to be honest, leaving to travel in South East Asia for 5 month, when you are a 28 year old woman in my situation is probably not the most common thing ever.

I started to ask myself why I wanted to do that and I remember some conversations I had when I was on the road with other backpackers. I remembered how I felt and how the travel changed me. I remembered some words, some stories that the people told me about, all their experiences and I remembered how much these tales has counted and were incredibly important for me, for my personal development and the way I see now the world and life.
I simply asked myself “Would I be able to change other people’s life by using my skills in photography and video making?”
So here we are, after a lot of thinking, I dream to share my experience as a backpacker as I did for my previous trips via a blog. I want you to be my readers and my friends along the way.
The second project will be the realisation of a short video, like an intimate documentary in which I will do some interviews of what are the real aspects of backpacking for a long time when you are a solo female traveller. I will call this: The Wanderlust Queens.
So the plan is to travel through Burma, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines, from the 30th of October to the 17th of March.

I can’t wait to meet all the travellers on the way and discover these amazing countries.

A projection and exhibition of my pictures and videos will be schedule for 2016.
I have the feeling that I will participate in a way to change other people’s life for the better, Or at least to bring some joy and happiness in this world for a short moment.
I would like to thank everybody who will participate to help me on this project.
I would like to thanks everybody who already did.
Share this blog and start following my journey from the 30th of October!
